This Is BeLeaf Company.
Our Roots
BeLeaf Co. started as a non-profit company in the state of Missouri, growing, extracting and producing a very effective oil for epilepsy patients. Since 2016, we have been growing a cannabis plant that is very high in CBD and treating patients with very serious epilepsy. Given we were dealing with extremely ill patients, that cultivated a deeper focus into how we grow, how we process, and all the rigorous testing that we do. Those initial steps led to the development of Noah’s ReLeaf. Our meaningful interactions with patients and their families have taught us a lot about this oil and how it can be used for health and wellness. It brings us so much joy when our oil can slow or stop those seizures. Many of these families are trying to get off of prescription meds with the use of CBD products and then when they can ultimately wean off one or more of those drugs, they get their lives back. BeLeaf is committed to the healing power of whole hemp plant CBD oil -oil that is all- natural, holistic, and passionately produced.
Who We Are Today
Today BeLeaf Co. has three lines of CBD Hemp Oil products, all focused on purity and potency. Our flagship line BeLeaf Life’s Oils is a full-spectrum hemp oil; meaning our products don’t focus on one part of the plant by isolating only CBD. We use the whole plant with all its natural cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, lipids and fats. We also produce modifi which is a pure CBD isolate specifically formulated for pharmacies and Physician offices if they are looking for a CBD oil that maintains no traces of THC. We are excited to bring these high quality, single source products to the general marketplace. Dr. Stephanie Cernicek, Director of Operations, “It's really amazing to be the first cannabis grow in Missouri, in many years. That has allowed us the time to really focus on making high quality products in this state for our customers. By doing everything in-house and in one facility, it lets us ensure that all of our products are made in the best possible way.”
John Curtis, Director of Cultivation, “We endeavor to provide everything that the plant could possibly want in a controlled environment. All the temperatures are controlled, humidity is controlled, the amount of nutrients that the plant receives, how often the plant is irrigated, everything we do is designed around pleasing these plants so that they can express their genetic potential.”
Cultivating Change
Mitch Meyers Chief Executive Officer, “Being around the plants is very comforting and enjoyable to people. When they realize it's a simple plant that we are just extracting the oil from, people see the simplicity of the plant and process and get really excited.” At BeLeaf Company we have a nursery, also called a clone room, we have a vegetative room, and we have a flower room. The plants spend several weeks in the nursery and once they have a root structure they get their unique identifying number and they move to the next room. All of the plants in our vegetative room come to us from the nursery where they are going to spend four to six weeks. In this room based on the hours of daylight and darkness, they will think it's springtime. They grow dramatically setting branches and leaves to prepare for the final stage. Plants are phototropic, meaning they change with the light. We move them into the flower room where they receive less daylight and more darkness, so they feel like it is fall, and need to set their flower. In the flower room the plants will at first experience a very short burst of vertical growth and end up being four and a half or five feet tall. Then, that growth will cease and all the energy will be focused on the growth to the flowers. Those flowers then have very high levels of cannabinoids, in our case CBD. In another six to eight weeks they are ready to harvest.
Extracting The Full-Spectrum
After harvest we will employ several ways to prepare the flower for extraction. One is dehydration and the other is to flash-freeze the plant material, which seals in all the cannabinoids and terpenes at their peak. We then process the plant material and put it through the extraction process. The concentrate straight from our extraction machine looks almost like honey and has the same consistency. This thick, syrupy substance is all of the cannabinoids and terpenes that are naturally found in the plant. The concentrate is poured out on sheets of parchment paper and spend another 48 hours in a vacuum oven gently removing any potential residual solvent. The final concentrate is sent off to be tested by a third party lab. We then formulate the concentrate into products and lab test again.
Transparency In Our Products
Many companies only test representative batches, we test every ounce of oil that is extracted and sold through our facility. The lab test determines the amount of cannabinoids and terpenes, it also tests for residual solvent, mycotoxins, pesticides and everything that we possibly can to ensure that our product is safe and that it is what we say it is. From there we can start making our final products. Our tinctures, our capsules, and our balm. The lab test results are always available online, each batch has a batch number on that product that correlates to the test results so anyone can see these results.
We see a lot of hemp brands springing up everywhere and you will continue to see that for the next few years. You need to ask where your hemp comes from. If you are worried or anxious about trying a CBD product, the most important thing is to do your own due diligence on the company. We encourage consumers to look for companies like BeLeaf that are fully transparent in their processes and manufacturing of hemp products. We provide detailed analysis of our product that very few other producers of CBD products can provide.
Our BeLeaf In Hemp
We have a chain of custody that starts at day zero and literally continues to the point that the product is packaged and delivered to the retail outlet. The best thing about getting this license in Missouri is that we are actually able to show people what hemp is and what it isn't. We think it’s not just seeing the plants themselves, but seeing the human beings that work at BeLeaf Company. We just felt that BeLeaf in this plant was a pretty straightforward and honest assessment of who we are and the benefits of the hemp plant. We are very proud of the product that we are creating, it has been an amazing experience to see the real-world impact on the lives of individual people and how it has improved their situations and the lives of the people around them. We are very grateful to have that opportunity and continue to create awareness about the health benefits of this amazing plant.
