Embracing Cozy Nights: How CBD Can Transform Your Autumn Wind-Down Rituals
For many, nothing is more relaxing than a chilly autumn night–outside with a fire or inside with their favorite media and a blanket. Of course, not every night is as soothing as the last, or you might, in general, always prefer or need something extra during your self-care time.
Using BeLeaf at night as part of your wind-down ritual can have many benefits. It can help you get a good night's rest by helping regulate your sleep cycles by working with your endocannabinoid system. Those same CB1 receptors also help with recovery, with CBD lending a hand to modulate those receptors, helping your body reach homeostasis and enhancing that recovery.
Of course, you can simply take your tincture, but maybe you're like us and enjoy a warm drink on these cold nights. We often encourage mixing our CBD oil with other activities that help you relax, and blending them with food and beverages can change how you experience the effects of CBD as it processes at a slower rate through your digestion system than the sublingual method.
Two really great options for this are black tea or hot chocolate. Both benefit from using milk (dairy or plant-based) and are not caffeinated or have the option not to be. Since CBD binds to fat well, it is why we use coconut oil in our products; it will benefit from the milk you choose. The milk or cream also emulsifies with the coconut oil in our products better than something made with only water, you won't be left with an oily residue.
Mixing with Tea:
For the tea, choose a nice low-caffeine black tea like Darjeeling, a decaf black tea, or your favorite herbal tea that will work well with milk or cream. Take the milk or cream and blend it with a single dose of the BeLeaf of your choosing until they are well incorporated. Make the tea as usual; add your milk or cream and stir. Simple!
Adaptogenic Hot Chocolate:
This spiced hot chocolate is a lovely drink packed with antioxidants. It is sure to help you relax and recover after a long day.
Ingredients:
1 cup full fat coconut milk
2 teaspoons cacao powder
1 teaspoon ashwagandha powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon powdered cardamom or 1 drop of cardamom essential oil
½ teaspoon cinnamon or 1 drop of cinnamon essential oil , plus a sprinkle for garnish
½ teaspoon vanilla extract or ¼ teaspoon of vanilla powder
8 drops of BeLeaf Life's Oils Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil 1500ml
Garnish with: dollop of vegan whipped cream and 1 teaspoon rose petals or dried lavender and a pinch of cinnamon
Instructions:
Heat the coconut milk in a small saucepan.
Add BeLeaf Life's Oils 1500mg CBD Oil and mix until well combined.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together cacao, ashwagandha, turmeric, cardamom, and cinnamon. Transfer to a mug.
Pour heated coconut milk into the mug with the powder mixture and gently whisk
Add vanilla and whisk again to fully blend all the ingredients.
Top with your choice of garnish.
